NASM and AFAA Recertification - Postural & Movement Assessment Certification Course
The Postural & Movement Assessment certification course focuses on the NASM postural and movement assessment, but it is important to mention that this is only a part of the comprehensive assessments that are recommended by NASM. To achieve this essential objective, personal trainers will need to complete a pre-participation health or medical screening questionnaire with each individual client, stratify each client’s overall risk for physical activity and exercise using the results of the screening, and lastly, determine which fitness or health assessments need to be completed before the client starts his or her exercise program.
- Describe the components of and rationale for an integrated fitness assessment.
- Teach the importance of posture, how it relates to movement observation, and how to assess it.
- Explain how to perform a comprehensive posture and movement assessment.
- Help design an exercise program using the obtained subjective and objective information about clients from previous assessments and from the posture and movement assessment.
